ART PROJECT 'SUBMERGES' (SITE NAME) TO SHOW FUTURE EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING

NAME/ORGANIZATION is creating an art installation at SITE to demonstrate visually how a rise in sea levels linked to global warming could dramatically affect CITY/NEIGHBORHOOF.

The collaborative art project is designed to raise awareness of solutions to global warming and the consequences to future generations if we don't act now. While mapping technology has already made it possible to see the effects of global warming in a digital space, this art installation will dramatically illustrate the effects of climate change on an actual streetscape.

The "Future Sea Level" project involves wrapping SITE in custom tape to help people visualize what would be submerged if global warming continues unchecked. In addition to physically marking projected sea levels around SITE building, the event will also showcase SPEAKERS, PERFORMANCE OR OTHER ACTIVITIES.

VISUALIZE 'FUTURE SEA LEVEL' RISE AT CUTTING-EDGE ART INSTALLATION

Global warming is an issue that makes headlines but is very difficult to visualize. Estimates from scientists range from a one meter (three feet) sea level rise in the next hundred years to a 20-foot rise by 2100 as a result of climate change. But what would that look like at SITE WHERE INSTALLATION WILL TAKE PLACE?

On DAY, DATE, NAME OF ORGANIZER(S) will unveil a customized “FutureSeaLevel.org” marker at SITE to illustrate the potential sea-level rise. The event will also highlight what individuals can do to reduce the impact of climate change and will feature OTHER ACTIVITIES PLANNED
